Bills Lock Up O'Cyrus Torrence With Four-Year, $78.4 Million Extension

The Buffalo Bills have secured the long-term future of their offensive line, agreeing to a four-year, $78.4 million contract extension with right guard O'Cyrus Torrence on Friday. The Buffalo Bills reached an agreement with right guard O'Cyrus Torrence on a four-year, $78.4 million extension that includes $46 million guaranteed, his agents Jon Perzley, Brian Mackler and Daniel Scardigno of Sport Stars told ESPN's Adam Schefter and NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. The deal keeps him with the franchise through the 2030 season.

The extension makes Torrence one of the highest-paid interior linemen in the league. With his new deal averaging $19.6 million per season, Torrence is the seventh-highest-paid guard in the NFL, sandwiched between Quenton Nelson at $20 million and Landon Dickerson at $19.5 million.

A Model of Consistency

Torrence, drafted by Buffalo in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft, has been remarkably durable and reliable since entering the league. Torrence was selected in the second round of the 2023 draft out of the University of Florida, and was entering the final season of his rookie contract, having been a starter since his rookie season and part of a line that's played a key role in protecting Josh Allen and helped James Cook to lead the NFL in yards rushing last season.

His workload numbers underscore that reliability. What has impressed his teammates the most through his three seasons in Buffalo is that Torrence has logged 100%, 93% and 100% of the Bills' offensive snaps during that stretch. Overall, Torrence has 57 career starts, including playoffs, and was part of a line that allowed the NFL's fewest sacks in both 2023 and 2024.

Team and Teammate Reaction

Bills coach Joe Brady praised the young guard following practice, describing him as "one of the top guards in football." General manager Brandon Beane echoed that sentiment while explaining the franchise's priorities up front, saying "The No. 1 thing we want to do is we want to be strong up front... We want to protect No. 17 (QB Josh Allen)."

Quarterback Josh Allen also offered high praise for his blocker, stating "He deserves every penny. Cybo's just that guy on the team where you ask anybody, I don't think anybody could say a bad thing about O'Cyrus Torrence. And he's the ultimate teammate."

Line Continuity

The extension continues a broader trend of Buffalo investing in offensive line stability. With Torrence's new deal, four of the Bills' projected five starting offensive linemen are now under contract through at least the 2027 season, with left guard remaining the lone unsettled position entering the season. Right tackle Spencer Brown, who lines up next to Torrence, reflected on the news, saying "He's super important to the offense, but also as well as me. I mean, we've played next to each other the last four years, and now I look forward to the next four together."
